Leveraging Your Relationships and MSIs

Recently I spoke at the Fitness Model International weekend and my message was much about "networking." In a nutshell, I told the models to get off their high horse and realize that we need each other in order to survive.

Fitness modeling, and most business in general, can be a very narcissistic environment. "I'm better than you", "look at me", "my abs are the best in the world", "I have more covers than you", "my business is grossing over 100 Million per year", and so on, and so forth.

My plea to the models at the event was to open up and get to know each other, to understand that you can and will benefit from building relationships.

The days of Arnold mentally beating down poor Lou Ferrigno are forever imprinted on old dvd's of Pumping Iron, but now is the time to unite if we want to make it.

I'm obviously using the FMI event as a metaphor for a much bigger situation. That situation being the State of the Union. As much as I preach not to get overwhelmed by what people are saying about the economy, I'm not blind either.

I know retail is suffering, housing markets are down, the stock market is struggling, but that is no reason to throw in the towel and act as if you are a Lilliputian by saying things like, "were doomed. We'll never make it!"

Now is the time that we need to come together and network, lean on each other, and help each other by borrowing from each other strengths and skill sets.

Yesterday I went thru my Rolodex and called everyone I knew that I could help by teaming up with them. I felt that collaboration could help both of our businesses benefit. I found that most everyone is open to ideas, suggestions, relationships, and anything that will help during these interesting times in America and throughout the world.

Networking is vital in today's market and I highly suggest that you begin to see what relationships you have that you can leverage to help maximize efforts on both sides of the deal. Remember, it must always be a win/win situation. There must be something in it for everyone involved otherwise you'll be hard pressed to find willing participants.

I put out a blog a while ago in reference to this tea I've been marketing and I almost made it sound as if I was embarrassed by the fact that I did. I need to clarify the fact that I am in no way embarrassed for offering someone the opportunity to team up with me in order to help you make money. Enough said on that.

Anyway, another great way to battle the economy and win is to create MSI's Multiple Streams of Income. Every wealthy person in the world has more than one source of income. Most people in America have a 9-5 and are limited by their hourly wage.

I encourage you not only to leverage relationships, but also dig deep to figure out something you can create and additional income stream with. The first obvious resource would be the internet. This site is a great way to build your name, create a following, and then start your own site to sell products and services.

One final thought...it's a great time to be young in America. If you are still living at home, have no bills and literally no responsibility other than cleaning your room, wake up and see the possibilities. There is so much you can do to create a future.

Take advantage of a sluggish market. Learn how to invest a few dollars here and there. Go out and buy a house with some close friends or family members. Establish relationships so you can work your way into something that will be huge later. Open your eyes and see all of the possibilities because America is on the way back. Remember this always....
