The term "nutrition" always, makes people think of vitamins, minerals, and one’s diet. If you’re health conscious, this is usually automatic but if you’re not so health conscious, you may say, "nah, I don't need them".
"Nah, I don't need them. I am too inconsistent anyway. I feel fine and my energy is good. I sleep well and my Doctor says if I eat good, there is no need."
Everyone and their brother’s, sister’s cousin pushes or sells vitamins. The plethora of vitamin houses and sales are enough to intimidate anyone from supplementing their diet with vitamins and minerals, even if they might have entertained the thought.
So do we need a vitamin or not? How much does one take and what kind? What are the better vitamins to take and how about manufacturers?
First a nutrition lesson. In my last article, I expressed the need for good clean alkalizing water for the body to ward off infection, chronic illness, and disease, which all grow and breed in an acidic environment and one without oxygen (anaerobic). Without water that hydrates, the human body runs through a gamete of symptoms, which resemble back pain, acid reflux, cognition issues, electrolytic issues (irregular heat beat, tachycardia, myocardial infarctions), gall bladder and renal disruption (and a ton of compounding issues as result of other potential unknown deficiencies). Instead of drinking water that hydrates, people consume hydration formulas, (none clinically approved other than pedialyte, which is for babies) take pills for their infirmities, and never see the simplicity and the power of water. Mineral deficiencies and mild acidosis, in addition to changes in temperature, can alter metabolism mildly overtime until a threshold is achieved which resembles illness. Health is proliferated by good nutrition and today we suffer the consequences of poor soil, pesticides, herbicides, hormones, antibiotics, hydrocarbons, plastic polymers, glycols, mono and di-glycerides, butylatedhydroxytoluene, etc. Need I describe more of the sickening byproducts of food processing?
Our bodies need protein, carbohydrates, fats, in addition to vitamins and minerals. Notice both are mentioned here. The fact that most of the food American's consume has elements that
deplete the body. This in turn points to the necessity for them. Vitamins are no substitute for food and are used in conjunction to provide the macronutrition we loose in food cultivation and processing, in addition to the non-diet sources that we also may not get in our food, which is a bit alarming.
Vitamin D
We are told by our skin doctors and the media to use sun block because the sun causes cancer. We are given vitamin D in our dairy sources, which most people are allergic to, and others (due to bio-chemical differences) do not absorb. If you do not know, vitamin D is synthesized from sun light and if one blocks the light most of the time, we suffer the consequences. Sun is needed as a vital source for nourishment and vitamin D (Calciferol) which is a fat-soluble vitamin, requires whole body participation. Vitamin D is a sterol substance (cholesterol-like), and manufactured by your skin, liver, kidneys and bloodstream (cit.) Vitamin D is "attenuated" in the body begging with the skin as the initial synthesizer. Transference to the renal system and liver afterwards produces a chemical conversion of the attenuated D to calcidiol and then into usable D called 125-dihydroxycholecalciferol. Vitamin D is circulated through the bloodstream with a binding protein (DBP). If DPB is damaged or lacking in the system, a Vitamin D deficiency is the result. Vitamin D is stored in the brain, bones and spleen, liver and skin. Vitamin D supplementation requires care, due to probabilities of toxification. Both heavy sun exposure and over supplementation can lead to toxicity. Other vitamins that come from non-diet sources and the body manufactures are K and Biotin.
