I recently started using this oil again and in doing so, realized how much saturated fat it had so being concerned with this, I started researching if it was the right oil to us this is what I discovered. Coconut oil is one of nature’s most amazing gifts to us all! The benefits of coconut oil are something our bodies are crying out for in this age of low-cholesterol, high trans fat, 'saturated-fats-are-evil' kind of food culture. It’s expensive, but it’s worth it! Use it daily and your body will thank you.

The medium chain fatty acids in coconut oil increase fat-burning in your body and increase the activity of the thyroid gland, effectively raising the metabolism. Instead, it's the larger long chain fatty acids in other vegetable oils which are more difficult to process, therefore making them more likely to be stored as fat which tend to cause weight gain.
Coconut oil help satiate the appetite and keep you feeling fuller, longer, so another benefit of coconut oil is that it can actually help with weight loss, especially in combination with a reduction in the amount of carbohydrates taken.

Some other health benefits of coconut oil also include hair care, skin care, stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, increased immunity, proper digestion and metabolism, relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV, cancer, dental care, and bone strength.
