Work Hard and It Will Pay Off!

I attended the FMI conference in LA last October and I must say that it was a life changing event. I really did not know much about FMI and I had randomly heard about it through Elisabetta Rogiani when I had ordered some modeling outfits for an upcoming shoot. I spoke with the promoter, Gary Warren and I quickly realized that it was certainly an event that I could not miss.

I had always known that I wanted to get involved in the fitness modeling industry, but I never had the tools to make the right moves. I felt like it was almost an untouchable industry. Gary Warren and Clark Bartram gave us the tools to turn a modeling dream into a reality and a career. After 3 days of seminars and photo shoots with amazing photographers like Mike Byerly and Harvey Elkins, I felt very equipped with the knowledge to turn my dreams into a business.

Since I left FMI back in October of last year, I have managed to land my very 1st casting in LA for an infomercial for the Ab Coaster. Talk about nervous and not knowing what to expect, but I made the last minute trip to LA and it was so worth it. I have Ray Austin from Team Talent Inc. to thank for sending me to the casting. He was one of the many amazing speakers at the LA conference.

Other words of advice that I was given was to get an agent. Never in my life did I think I would be looking to get an agent. Well, 6 months later I signed a contract with Sports Unlimited who were also at FMI. I am now looking forward to gaining more experience in the fitness modeling industry.

I just want to take the time to thank Clark, Gary and all of the speakers at FMI for sharing their priceless knowledge with me. I would never have gained the momentum I have now without having met all of the great people and contacts in the industry.

I learned one valuable thing and that is to keep working hard and eventually it will pay off. I also learned to follow your dreams no matter how crazy they may seem because they just might come true. If anyone out there is looking to start a career in the fitness industry, I would certainly put an FMI conference in my schedule for 2010.

Clark and Gary...thank you for inspiring all of us to go for it!
