It is official, I am 2 weeks out from competing in the Phoenix Pro Show. It is now, what I call, crunch time! I have just 2 short weeks to fine tune my body to be ready to step onstage against the best physiques from around the world. I feel right on track and now it is time for the final push.
I was certainly feeling the toll that dieting and working out hard has done to my body. I think I slept for 10 hours last night and, of course, woke up hungry. Today is a carb depletion day for me (go figure that it is on Super Bowl Sunday), so 6 egg whites are what I had for breakfast. Oh, and don't forget coffee!
This week will be my last full week of lifting weights and cardio. I do not lift very heavy the week of the competition so I can spend more time focusing on my posing. Speaking of posing, let's talk about stage presentation.
You may have the best physique in your class, but if you do not know how to present it you won't look your best. Looking back to when I competed at the National level, there were plenty of times when other gals had better physiques than me but they did not know how to work the stage. I felt that the reason I placed better was because my confidence showed in my presentation. If you are nervous and unsure of your posing everyone will see it including the judges. I tell my clients to be proud of the work they have done and to have fun and show it off while they are onstage. So remember.......stage presentation and posing are certainly half the game. Don't forget to practice so your transitions are like clockwork.
Until next week............

Have a goodun'!
Good luck with it Karen. And thanks for all the tips. I'm going to put a few to the test myself for an up-&-coming photoshoot. (Maybe not so extreme though!! Sounds very tough on you.) Let us know how you get on with the contest.
Best wishes.
Keith Cormican.
Keep Me Posted!
Keith,
Keep me posted on if some of my tips work for your upcoming shoot and good luck with that. Extreme, yes but only for short periods of time. Love your cover, keep up the hard work.

Have Fun!
remember just to have fun with it...win, lose or draw you are equipped with the tools and information you need to market yourself properly...so placing means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

It's all fun!
Thanks, Clark! I agree that placings do not matter and to focus on having fun. I am doing this competition for 3 reasons......to stay in shape, to help market "No Mullarkey" Personal Training and also to compete in my new hometown of Phoenix, AZ. Fun, I will have lots of that!
Thanks,
