Good Morning and I hope you all are having an amazing start to 2010! I am sorry that I have not blogged in awhile, but the holidays got me a bit off track. Our trip to Colorado was amazing and I sure do miss living in "God's Country"! Snowboarding was nice and a great way to get some exercise in the mountains.
So I am now just over 6 weeks out from my first IFBB Pro show of the 2010 season. I am very excited to dust off the heals and to get back onstage. Not only is it my first show of the season, but I get to compete in my new hometown of Phoenix, AZ. It will be so nice to compete and actually have a group of friends and family in the crowd to support me. I haven't had that since I debuted at the Kentucky Pro in my hometown of Louisville, KY back in 2007.
I have been hitting the weights hard, five days a week. I like to split my body parts up so I can get more out of my workouts. Lifting 5 days a week allows me to hit shoulders and back twice a week because those are the areas that I am trying to increase in size. For cardio I am doing the step mill, biking and trail running 5-6 days a week for 45 minutes to an hour. One of those days, I also add in a boot camp where I get a very intense workout. I LOVE THE CHALLENGE! All of this is combined with a very strict diet high in protein and moderate in "good carbs" and "good fats".
I will touch base next week with a more in depth look at my competition diet for Week 6. I am very pleased with my progress so far and I feel very confident that I will bring a great overall package to the stage in Phoenix. I hope all of the other competitors are doing their homework! LOL!
