New Year Resolutions
Everyone seems to make some sort of resolution, most of the time people tend to make a plan to lose weight, get a gym membership, eat healthier etc. The problem is after about six weeks people lose the motivation, they find excuses and feel that giving up their favorite foods is not worth the effort.
I personally NEVER make a resolution. I used to, don’t get me wrong, but I realized I’d do the same thing as everyone else. I’d say I was going to take up jogging and eventually I’d get bored and lose interest. I didn’t see the point in trying to stay motivated.
This blog is short and sweet to start off the New Year. Instead of making a resolution, make a list of goals you’d like to accomplish this year. Make it a goal to stop eating out for a month and pick a month, make a goal to travel somewhere this year, or to treat yourself to a “me day”. When you make little goals like this instead of making a big goal you know you may have a hard time sticking to, it becomes fun. You get to see your goals being accomplished and watch them get checked off. To keep myself on track, I make a goal once a week to indulge in a treat. I make Sundays my day off from the gym and eating clean and give into that brownie or bowl of ice cream o treat I’ve been wanting all week. It’s my little reward to myself, and I always look forward to those days.
So start off the year by finding things you know you can accomplish with ease and eventually you can work up to bigger goals. Welcome to the New Year and a new you!
