It's been a week now since I've been back from my eye-opening trip to Los Angeles for FMI 2009 and I am already beginning to see how life has a way of trickling in. While listening to Clark speak at the conference, feverishly trying to make note of every single word he said with paper and pen, I vowed to myself I would keep up with at the conference: follow up, follow through, stay focused on my goal, keep pushing, driving, stay motivated....easier said than done, especially while in the midst of so many people who have made it in the industry. Now home and a week as escaped me, albeit an emotional rollercoaster of a week: the morning after I got home, I had to take my cat to the vet to be put down, I booked a job for Copper Mountain Ski Resort and shot on Wednesday, I'm in the middle of moving apartments, helped my boyfriend set up and throw a halloween party at his house, and I can't miss my workouts, not to mention prioritizing my clients.(Ya, my job is in the mix too. Minor detail.).
So, with all the hats I'm trying to wear, I have had to keep little reminders around me to keep me focused on my dreams so that they stay within reach. Clark's book, "You Too Can Be a Fitness Model" is on my desk staring me in the face. I bookmarked www.clarkbartram.com so that I remember to blog and keep myself accountable. And, I check my email constantly (iPhone's are awesome for that!). Harvey and Mike have been in contact already and I can't wait to get my pictures from FMI shoots so that I can email my best to the editors of all the fitness magazines in publication today! Amber Elizabeth has been emailing with me about future plans for both of our goals. Gary has posted candids on facebook and I can't ignore the fact that I now get over 30 facebook friend requests a day.
So, in short. Life does get tricky to juggle, but because of FMI, Clark, Gary and the other amazing presenters that made it possible, I have the resources and constant reminders to stay motivated. And if I can juggle anything at all, FMI has done it's job well. If I haven't written in a while, shoot me a FB message! I'm not about to let routine become the barrier to my success, and I'll do the same for you.
Lastly, many many many thanks to Clark Bartram for the opportunity he's created for each of us to contribute to his site content. Such an honor it is to be able to learn from his experience.
