A Big Thanks To Clark Bartram My Mentor!

I have to say since meeting Clark so many incredible things have happened to me in regards to being a fitness model. I truly believe that the things that are happening to me are due to the result of meeting Clark. Prior to first meeting Clark in April I really was trying to figure out a way to be in the fitness magazines and break in the industry.

I had already had a very successful career as a sports model spanning over a decade from doing national sports commercials, national print ads and international sport modeling shows for Nike,,etc....Ok you get the point although I had success doing this I was trying to see if I could have that same success as a fitness model which is an entirely different industry from sports modeling.

Since meeting Clark in April these are the following things that have happened to me in this industry: Stretching 4 page feature in Maximum Fitness, (July, Aug issue), ab feature in the new issue of Maximum Fitness; ab feature, (Sept, Oct issue); Ab feature in the new issue of Inside Fitness which is Canada's #1 fitness magazine which comes out the first week of September;

An International supplement ad for Dymatize Nutrition which comes out in over 30 bodybuildng and fitness magazines worldwide in Nov which makes me the first black fitness model to land an international supplement ad that wasn't a bodybuilder or professional athlete. There will be at least three or 4 different ads of me running for at least year that will be in every fit and bodybuild mag; Cover for Max Sport and Fitness and cover/feature story for the Month of September. And next month I have cover tests shoots with 3 different fitness magazines.

I am not listing this to brag about what I've done I am just giving my praise to the man that I believe was incredibly influential in this success that I've attained in about 4 months time. Next month I will be in 3 different fitness magazines at the same time which I believe makes me the first black fitness model to do that. Again Clark is indirectly/directly responsible for this success.

I've thanked Clark before but I wanted to share my success with everyone here to let everyone that this man has been a godsend to me and to many people in the industry. He has given me tough love when I needed it and especially when I've been impatient at times which is pretty much all the time...LOL and has given me immeasurable wisdom to be successful in this industry. Everything I did to get the opportunity to book these shoots were following his exact principles in his You Too Can Be a Fitness model book and also intimate amounts of wisdom and words that he has shared with me.

I just want to say on this site that I consider you family Clark and there is nothing I wouldn't do for you and your family my man. I am saying it right here and I said it over the phone that I would take a bullet for you in a heartbeat homebody because I got mad love for you and I consider you family. Thanks for being my mentor and great friend and Thank You for being influential in all the success I've attained so far as a fitness model.

Not only am I honored by your words of kindness, but also to be a small part of helping you advance your career. Congratulations on all of your success, I'm confident that this is just the tip of the iceberg.
I've reached out to many people throughout the years in an effort to help aspiring models get established and it seems to me that many people don't want it as bad as they think they do. They tell me they will do whatever it takes, but very seldom follow through on the first bit of advice I give them. That is an indication to me that they don't want it at all. Not you my friend, you do whetever it takes and that is the mark of a driven and focused person.
You obviously have the looks and physique to go far and that can be seen, but the intangibles are what makes a great fitness model and you possess those more than most people I've offered my many years of expierence to.
I heard once that some models have accused me of only helping my friends and that couldn't be further from the truth. Frankly, most of my friends aren't even in the industry so that is impossible. I help the people that have a burning desire to make it and take the nesessary steps to go to the next level.
When a model e-mails me I kindly suggest they read my book and get back to me, if they don't I cannot help. Not becuase I want to sell a book, but becuase that answers most all the questions people have. What I'm noticing is that many models want me to hand deliver them to Robert Kennedy or Steve Blechman and get them on a cover and not do the work them selves.
Anyway, you do the necessary work Obi and I feel the same way about you and yes I will continue with my "tough love" becuase I know you can handle it, but hopefully you are getting more patient and it won't be necessary an longer.
Live your dream my friend!!!
