A few words go a long way!

I was driving down the street today, in a business meeting, when my phone rang. I thought to myself "I shouldn't answer this cause it's rude, I'm driving and it's illegal."  However when I saw it was my friend Obi I decided to break the law, interrupt my meeting and answer it anyway and I'm glad I did. When I picked it up Obi just went into thanking me for helping him in his career, and he really meant every word he said...I could feel it in his words. My business partner was listening and I think it made an impression on him when he heard Obi sharing his grattitude for a few small gestures I've made to help Obi in the right direction. I've done it for countless people and I must admit, it really felt good to hear those words. I didn't invest into Obi's career becuase I wanted any accolades, I did it becuase I know he has the potential to make it and make it big. He is driven, focused, disciplined and aware of his gifts...I'm sure that comes from being an outdtanding athlete and probably from some good parenting and mentoring in his life. I need to tell you, most people don't reach out like that abd a few words go a long way, especially with me. My point in all this is to say this, if there is someone who has invested love, time, energy, or anything you see as special and selfless...let them know! Reach out and share that with them. I'm telling you, it really means a lot.
Thanks Obi for being such a class act!

Your guidance has been immeasurable!

No problem Buddy I meant every word! It is kind of funny because I wrote about you yesterday on my facebook website. We must have ESP! I added that picture of you and I at the FAME camp back in April. Thank You for always acknowledging and giving me props my man.
I am looking forward to coming by the crib next week and shooting some more video for the site. Your mentoring, guidance and tough love has been immeasurable to me and has prevented me from making stupid mistakes that I know I probably would have made in this industry. Thanks for being a great friend and mentor to me! CB is family...straight up!
